Downloading TikTok Videos on Android

Most people who think a TikTok download failed on Android already have the file. It's sitting in the Download folder, and their gallery app simply isn't showing that folder.

So before you try again, check Files by Google or Chrome's download list. Here's the full process, and where to look afterwards.

Four taps, start to finish

1. In TikTok, tap Share > Copy link.
2. Open the SSSTikT downloader in Chrome and paste the link.
3. Tap Download, then MP4.
4. Open Gallery or Photos and look in the Download album.

Where TikTok hides the link button

On the video, tap the curved Share arrow, then Copy link. On some phones it's labeled Link and sits in the bottom row next to WhatsApp and the other apps.

Watching on the TikTok website? Copy the address from Chrome's address bar. Both link formats work.

Chrome's download bar

After you paste the link and tap the button, you'll see a preview and the download choices. Tap MP4.

Chrome either starts right away or shows a small bar at the bottom asking you to confirm. When it finishes, the bar says Open, and tapping it plays the video.

The saved video has no TikTok watermark and no end card. It's HD when the original upload is HD. We prefer the H.264 version when there is one, because it plays on practically every Android phone.

Which app shows the video

Chrome saves to Internal storage/Download. Where you see the file depends on your gallery app.

Samsung Gallery

Open Gallery > Albums and look for Download. If it isn't there:

• Tap the three-line menu, then Settings.
• Find Hide or unhide albums and make sure Download isn't hidden.

Google Photos on Pixel and other phones

Google Photos keeps camera shots apart from other folders. Go to Collections (called Library in older versions) and open Download under On this device.

Want it in your main timeline and backed up? Open that folder and turn on Backup.

Files by Google

The most reliable place to check. Open Files, tap Downloads and sort by date; your video will be at the top.

Samsung Internet, Firefox and Brave

• Samsung Internet saves to the same Download folder. Its list is under the menu at Downloads.
• Firefox and Brave also use Download by default. If Brave's button does nothing, lower shields for this site.

Sounds, slideshows and Stories

• For only the audio, use the TikTok to MP3 converter. The file shows up in your music player or in Files under Audio.
• Photo-mode posts go into the TikTok photo downloader. Each image saves separately into the Download album.
• For a public Story before its 24 hours run out, try the Story downloader. Not every Story link works, so save early.

Still can't find the file?

Go through these in order:

1. Chrome's download list (three dots > Downloads). If the file is listed, it downloaded fine and your gallery is hiding the folder.
2. A failed entry. "Failed – Network error" usually means the connection dropped. Paste the link again.
3. Storage. Android won't save when the phone is almost full. Check Settings > Storage.
4. In-app browsers. If you opened our site inside TikTok or Instagram, downloads are often blocked. Open the page in Chrome.
5. The post itself. Private, removed or region-blocked videos return an error. See why a TikTok won't download.

Android saving questions

Where do TikTok downloads go on Android?

Into Internal storage/Download. Gallery apps show it as a Download album, though some hide it by default.

Does it work on Samsung phones?

Yes, in both Chrome and Samsung Internet. Check that the Download album isn't hidden in Samsung Gallery.

Do I need an APK or an app?

No. The browser is enough, and installing downloader APKs from unofficial sites is a needless risk.

Can I save videos from private accounts?

No. Only public videos can be downloaded.
