How do I convert a TikTok video to MP3?
- Pick the cleanest clipAny public video that uses the sound will do. Tap the spinning record icon to open the sound page, then pick a version with little talking over the music.
- Copy the video linkTap Share, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address bar while that one video is open.
- Tap MP3Paste the link above, press Download and choose MP3. The file is named ssstikt_ plus the video ID, so repeat downloads never clash.
A word on quality: TikTok stores audio as compressed AAC, often around 128 kbps, and we encode it to MP3 at 192 kbps so the conversion adds no loss you'd hear. No converter can make it sound better than TikTok's own copy. If you love the song, the sound page usually names the track, so stream or buy it from the artist.

Keeping TikTok sounds on your phone
Copy the video link in the TikTok app, then open this page in Safari or Chrome and paste it.
On iPhone, the MP3 saves to Files > Downloads and plays right there. iPhone ringtones need an .m4r file, which GarageBand can make from it.
On Android, it lands in the Download folder, where most music apps find it. Ringtones are usually set under Settings > Sounds.
Pulling TikTok audio onto a laptop
Open the video on tiktok.com and copy the address from the browser bar.
Paste it into the box at the top, press Download and pick MP3. The file goes to your Downloads folder.
Drag it into VLC, Apple Music, Audacity or your video editor. It works the same on Windows, macOS and Linux.
When the file isn't what you expected
- Short file. If the video used a 20-second snippet of a song, that snippet is all you'll get.
- Background noise. A TV or traffic in the clip ends up in the MP3 too.
- Long video stalls. Big uploads take longer. If it keeps failing, save the MP4 from the homepage and pull the audio out in an editor.
- Nothing happens when you tap. You're probably in an in-app browser. Open the page in Safari or Chrome.

What bitrate is the MP3?
192 kbps. That's a common setting that plays on every phone, car stereo and editing app we've tried.
Can I get WAV or M4A instead?
Not right now. A WAV made from TikTok's compressed audio wouldn't sound any better. It would just be a bigger file.
Why is my MP3 silent?
TikTok sometimes mutes a video after a copyright claim. The sound is gone for everyone, so there is nothing to extract. Try a different video that uses the same sound.
Why can I hear someone talking over the song?
You get the full audio of that one video. If the creator spoke over the music, their voice is in the file. Pick another clip from the sound page with less talking.
Can I paste a link to a TikTok sound page?
No. Links with /music/ in them point at a sound, not a video. Open any public video that uses the sound and copy that link instead.
Why 192 kbps and not 320 kbps?
The source is already compressed, usually AAC at around 128 kbps. A 320 kbps MP3 made from it is a bigger file with the same sound, so sites advertising 320 kbps TikTok audio are re-encoding the same source.
Can I get the audio from a photo slideshow?
Yes. Slideshows carry a soundtrack too. Paste the link on the Download TikTok Photos page, which saves the images and the sound as TikTok serves it.
Will the MP3 sound better than it does on TikTok?
No. We can't add detail that isn't there. The file matches what TikTok streams, just in a format you can keep.
Can I use the audio in my own videos?
For personal editing, usually fine. Re-uploading a commercial song or someone's original sound as your own can trigger copyright claims. Check the rights first.
Do you keep a copy of the audio?
No. The sound is converted on the fly and sent to your device. The download link stops working after about 30 minutes.
