How do I download someone's TikTok Story?
- Open the StoryTap the profile picture with the colored ring around it. The Story starts playing.
- Grab the share linkTap Share or the three-dot menu, then Copy link. If there's no Copy link option, the Story can't be shared outside TikTok, and we can't reach it.
- Paste it herePaste the link above and give it a few seconds. Then pick MP4 for the video or MP3 for the sound.
People often ask whether they'll show up on the viewer list. Our download doesn't add you, because the Story is fetched without signing in to TikTok, but opening it in the app to copy the link can still count as a view. If a friend sends you the link, paste it here without opening it at all.

Saving a Story from phone or computer:
Grabbing a TikTok Story on your phone
Open the Story in the TikTok app, tap Share and choose Copy link.
Switch to Safari or Chrome, open this page and paste the link. Wait for the Story to load, then tap MP4.
iPhone saves it to Files > Downloads, where you can tap Save Video to put it in Photos. Android keeps it in the Download folder.
Saving Stories from tiktok.com on a computer
Open the Story on tiktok.com in your browser and copy the address from the top bar.
Paste it into the box above and click Download. The MP4 goes to your usual Downloads folder.
If a Story that's clearly public and live still fails, the problem is likely on our side. Try again a bit later.
Two timers to keep in mind
- TikTok's 24 hours. Once a Story expires, it's gone for everyone, including us.
- Our 30 minutes. After you paste a link, the download button stays ready for about half an hour. If it says the link expired, paste it again.

Can I save a Story from a private account?
No. Only Stories that anyone can see without logging in can be fetched.
Is it possible to download a Story after 24 hours?
No. Once a Story expires, its link points at nothing, and it can't be brought back by us or anyone else.
Why did my Story link fail?
The Story may have expired, the account may be private, or part of the link got cut off. Story support is also less reliable than video support, so some public links fail.
Will the person know I saved their Story?
Our download isn't tied to any TikTok account. Opening the Story in the app to copy its link can still show up as a view.
Do saved Stories have a watermark?
No. When a video Story downloads, it comes through as a clean MP4 without the TikTok logo.
Should I back up my own Stories?
It's a good habit. Your own Stories disappear after a day too, and saving them keeps a copy you control.
What about photo Stories?
They are the least reliable kind. If one fails here, try its link on the Download TikTok Photos page.
Can I save every Story on a profile at once?
No. The tool works one link at a time. Copy each Story link separately while it is still live.
Do short vm.tiktok.com Story links work?
Yes. Short share links are expanded automatically, so you can paste them as they are.
Can I use this as a TikTok Story viewer?
Only in a small way. After you paste a Story link you see its cover, the account and its length, and you can download it to watch. It can't list someone's Stories from a username.
Is it OK to repost a Story I downloaded?
Ask first. People post Stories because they disappear. Saving a friend's public birthday Story is one thing; reposting a stranger's Story to mock them is another.
